Wanstead Opticians is an independent optical practice located just a stone’s throw from Central London. Mewscraft was brought to this project with a brief of creating a light, airy and contemporary practice.
From the beginning, the client was very interested in using shelving to break up the vertical nature of display rods in the practice. These bespoke shelves not only provide display space but also act as a decorative element in their own right with the use of branding and feature frames.
Oak effect drawers were brought into the space to allow ample storage of different frames and cases. The natural wood accents bring a sense of warmth to the space which complement the warm stone effect countertops and back panels. Teal velvet accents were strategically placed throughout the practice to add a touch of luxury and softness while adding a sense of contrast.
The Mewscraft team designed and commissioned bespoke mirrors which give the illusion that they are hanging from the ceiling. The black steel mirror support makes it stand and adds character to the space. The industrial styling of the mirror is complimented with the use of the bold black Alumina display rods.
The completed refurbishment has transformed the practice into a stylish and inviting space with warm oak tones, industrial concrete and pops of teal velvet. We are thrilled with the outcome, and our Client is too.
