The Optical People practice is in a charming street in the heart of Chepstow, with many independent boutiques. When we were approached by the owner, Jackie, she was fully aware that the practice was in desperate need of refurbishment. It needed smartening up, but she also wanted to create two good-sized consulting rooms, where the existing layout provided 1½ at best.
Jackie has a love of colour and vibrancy and encouraged us to be really adventurous with the design, something our designers love to do. When we thought we had gone too far, Jackie wanted to go further!
Proposals were put forward: 3 D visuals, samples, mood boards and 2 D plans were discussed and developed between Jackie and our Designers. Quotations were produced and the project started. This was In June 2020, just as the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were easing. Construction could continue, one trade at a time, with the necessary social distancing and precautions. Mewscraft has a positive “can-do” approach and despite the added complications, such as the supply of materials, we got the project completed in approx. 4 weeks, just as high streets began to re-open.
The result is a unique Optical Practice which is an asset to Chepstow. Colourful, vibrant, professional, friendly, practical. Take a look at the photographs and you will see what we mean! It was a pleasure working with Jackie and we are all thrilled with the outcome.
