Mewscraft was approached by The Optical Studio in 2013 to refit their practice in Farnham. Based in the Lion and Lamb Yard in the heart of Farnham it was important that Mewscraft came up with a design that was in keeping with the beautiful cobbled and brickwork surroundings.
The main aim of the refit was to provide more space in the retail and dispensing areas and maximise the number of frames on display. This required turning the test room through 90 degrees to make it a ‘short form’ test room. After much design work and communication with The Optical Studio the final look and price was agreed it was left to the Mewscraft team to turn it into reality. The new desired modern look required us to install new ceiling, lighting, flooring and decoration throughout the practice.
The building work and construction of the new room all went very smoothly and after 10 days on site the beautiful new furniture was ready to put in place. With the help of some brilliant new displays from our Concept-S range and bold coloured wallpapers the new practice really came to life. We used a combination of metal halide spot lights and subtle LED lighting to highlight the spectacles on display. The borders to the displays added an extra dimension to the space. Overall the scheme fused together a freshness with a modern and personalised look giving excellent results.
After 2 weeks the whole practice had been transformed and Dhruve and Trish, of The Optical Studio, were delighted with the new look.
