Interior design for hospitals and medical centres

Hospitals and medical centres see a lot of people passing through on a daily basis. Visitors have very diverse needs, staying for indeterminable periods of time. Whether it’s the needs of staff or patients you’re thinking about, there are a lot of variables to consider when looking at a refurbishment.

At Mewscraft, we take time to analyse your requirements and carefully plan to best meet your needs with minimum disruptions in such a sensitive environment. With our years of expertise and experience in healthcare design, we refit medical centres while bearing in mind the latest NHS advice on layouts and design. Our refits and completed in line with, and are acceptable to, the ever tightening requirements of CQC (Care Quality Commission).

We pride ourselves on having a team of professional, discreet and friendly fitters, electricians and carpenters who carry out refurbishment work which is designed to last. This means it will be a long time before you have to think about refitting and disrupting your service again.

With our experienced craftsmen and creative design, we create premises that are welcoming, professional, clinical, reassuring with clear zoning and sign-posting to guide patients to the right area and create a reassuring environment. From waiting rooms, to reception areas and consultation rooms, let us help you create an ideal space.

Can you tender for our project?

Yes, we are familiar with the tender process and are an accredited provider. We have previously worked with hospitals such as Great Ormond Street and Plymouth, and are experienced working under JCT contracts or similar.

Are you compliant with the latest regulation concerning wheelchair and disabled access?

We know that as a hospital or medical centre, one of your key priorities is improving access and responding to patients needs. We understand that need, and our architects and interior designers always consider access when planning your refurbishment – helping you create a space that is both welcoming and accessible to all patients.

If you have any special requirements, we can respond to them with bespoke design and specialist sourced equipment.

How long will it take?

The length of time the refurbishment takes will depend on the extent of work being carried out. We will discuss this with you beforehand, and will learn more about the day to day running of the hospital before implementing a plan. This way, we can find a solution which causes the least disruption. We can have our fitters work at hours which are less hectic, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. A refit can be completed in 7-10 days.
