The Harrold Opticians Group approached Mewscraft in 2017 to assist with the moving of their existing practice in Poole to a new premises.
Having been previously used as a card shop, the space required a complete rework of the interior to operate as an optical practice. Mewscraft were delighted to design and coordinate this transformation which included everything from partitioning, flooring, electrics, lighting and plumbing, to furniture, displays, shopfront and signage – the works!
Mewscraft put together a new colour scheme for the practice that focuses around warmth. This is reflected through the solid Oak of some displays, the rich teal colour of the walls, and the warm temperature of the lighting.
By incorporating solid Oak into the practice, the wood brings a natural warmth in both its colour and texture. The rich teals and browns incorporated within the scheme are reflected in both textured wallpapers, painted walls and fixtures and fittings. The flash of yellow from the pendants adds a splash of contrast and fun.
Mewscraft designed the lighting scheme to create a warmer atmosphere in the main retail space in comparison to the clinical nature of the testing rooms.
With a build time of 8 weeks on site. The space was transformed from an ex card shop, into a modern and friendly independent optical practice in a bustling town high street. It was a pleasure to work with Harrold Opticians and we wish them the best of luck with their new location.
