Mewscraft first met Francesca and her father John, of Fulgoni Opticians in August 2017. Having recently updated aspects of their practice, they were keen to tidy up and refresh the look of the interior without overspending.
They asked Mewscraft to put together a new scheme that incorporated new desking, flooring and decoration whilst for budget reasons, maintaining the existing displays, ceiling, lighting and some furniture.
Francesca knew the look she wanted to achieve from the beginning, and so working very closely with Mewscraft designer Romina, they developed a scheme that oozes style, sophistication and Italian flair.
As well as new flooring throughout the main retail space, Mewscraft provided a new colour scheme to be incorporated within the existing practice and existing displays. This included redecoration of ceiling, walls, shop windows (internals) and the supply of new wallpaper to be installed on existing display units. Francesca has a strong passion for Italy, and wanted to incorporate a Mediterranean vibe within the practice. Two bright and warm graphics as well as newly wallpapered back panels brought the existing displays to life with an Italian twist!
This project lived up to the meaning of bespoke, with Mewscraft designing and fitting new cupboard doors to one of the existing open displays as well as re-spraying and redecorating the handles and fronts of their existing Bisley storage cabinet. The practice also benefitted from a new reception desk, two dispensing desks, wooden decoration cubes and shelves, and not forgetting a replacement of the existing pencil display base, all designed and fitted by Mewscraft.
Fulgoni Opticians is a truly fun practice, and this was evident throughout the entire project. From Francesca’s unique sense of style to the deadline for the project being their Christmas party, this project was a joy to be a part of from start to finish. The refreshed practice is wonderfully warm, stylish and inviting – a fitting reflection of Francesca, John and the whole team at Fulgoni Opticians.
